Members of ISEH are able to participate in the following committees:
Scientific Programming Committee
Do you want to help shape the scientific program for the ISEH Annual Scientific Meeting? This committee sets our meeting agenda and identifies our esteemed invited speakers each year. Recruitment for the Scientific Program Committee takes place March - May each year, so the selection for these roles are delayed for several months after the Call for Volunteers process.
3-year term - Typical number of positions available annually: 0-5
This committee is best for Clinical and Research Faculty (Group Leaders, Assistant, Associate, Full and Tenured Professors).
Publications Committee
Have an interest in Scientific Communication? Consider applying to the ISEH Publications Committee! This committee supports ISEH publications such as Experimental Hematology and SimplyBlood, as well as ISEH’s social media.
2-year term - Typical number of positions available annually: 1-4
This committee is best for Clinical and Research Faculty (Group Leaders, Assistant, Associate, Full and Tenured Professors).
Awards Committee
Are you familiar with the major accomplishments of your peers, mentors and colleagues? This committee selects the annual ISEH Scientific Awards - Donald Metcalf, McCulloch and Till, and Janet Rowley as well as the ISEH Leadership Awards – Outstanding Mentor, Inclusive Leader, and Lifetime Service.

This committee is best for Clinical and Research Faculty (Group Leaders, Assistant, Associate, Full and Tenured Professors).
Nominating Committee
Want to help shape the future of ISEH? This committee reviews Board of Directors nominations and selects the slate of candidates chosen for the ISEH Board of Directors election each year.

New Investigators Committee
Are you interested in organizing year-round education and networking opportunities? Consider applying to the New Investigators Committee! The New Investigators Committee organizes educational and networking sessions throughout the year and at the Annual Scientific Meeting for PhD and post-doctoral students, plans educational webinars and more.
2-year term - Typical number of positions available annually: 1-3
This committee is best for Early Career Researchers (PhD students, post-doctoral fellows, and Junior Faculty).
Finance Committee
Interested in learning more about the inner-workings of an organization? Finance Committee members help shape the future of ISEH through society governance. No previous finance experience required.
2-year term - Typical number of positions available annually: 1-4
This committee is best for Clinical and Research Faculty (Group Leaders, Assistant, Associate, Full and Tenured Professors).
Junior Faculty Committee
Are you interested in developing resources for Junior Faculty? The Junior Faculty Committee organizes educational and networking sessions at the Annual Scientific Meeting for Junior Faculty and plans webinars highlighting emerging Junior Faculty.

This committee is best for Junior Faculty and New Group Leaders as well as Clinical and Research Faculty (Associate, Full and Tenured Professors).
Member Engagement and Outreach Committee
Do you want to strengthen engagement across the ISEH community? The Member Engagement and Outreach Committee creates opportunities for connection, participation, and outreach by enhancing member engagement and accessibility, encouraging community participation, and expanding efforts within and beyond ISEH.

Annual Meeting Abstract Reviewer
Want to get a preview of the latest research? Volunteer to serve as an abstract reviewer and shape the selection of oral and poster presentations at the Annual Meeting. Recruitment for Abstract Reviewers takes place January - March each year, so the selection for these roles are delayed for several months after the Call for Volunteers process. Abstract reviews take place April – July each year.
1-year term - Positions become available as needed.

New Investigators Committee Pre-Meeting Workshop Volunteer Opportunities
Want to help plan or execute an exclusive opportunity for PhD students and post-doctoral fellows? The Pre-Meeting Workshop, held each year the day before the start of the Annual Meeting program, is looking for volunteers to organize and judge the event.
- Organizer - typically 1-2 positions available
This position is responsible for identifying keynote speakers and coordinating the event's judges. Depending on the quantity of organizers, there is a possibility for remote participation in this position.
This opportunity is best for Group Leaders, Assistant, Associate, Full and Tenured Professors.
- Judge - typically 15-25 positions available
This is a one-time volunteer opportunity available at the in-person presentation portion of the Pre-Meeting Workshop before the start of the Annual Meeting. Judges attend presentations by trainees, then score the presentations and provide constructive feedback. This workshop also serves as a great networking opportunity.
