Announcing New ExpHem Article Types

The International Society for Experimental Hematology (ISEH) and our society-owned journal, Experimental Hematology (ExpHem), invite submissions to two exciting new article types designed to accelerate discovery and innovation in hematology research.

Methodology/Best Practices

Our Methodology/Best Practices papers provide a dedicated platform for rigorously validated techniques, protocols, and experimental frameworks that enhance reproducibility, standards, and community resources across the field.

ExpHem Insights

Our ExpHem Insights submission type showcases impactful findings—welcoming reports of phenomenologies (with potential mechanisms), robust cell phenotyping without requiring complete mechanistic resolution, and well-contextualized negative results or null hypothesis. Submissions should clearly articulate limitations, outline next steps, and highlight how the work advances hematology, while also embracing contributions such as high-value datasets.

Don't forget - ExpHem also offers fast-track review submissions! Receive an editorial decision within 710 days of submission through our expedited Fast-Track Submission option. This pathway is available for research articles that fall within the scope of Experimental Hematology and have previously been reviewed by another high-impact journal. To be considered for Fast-Track review, authors must provide the prior reviewers’ comments along with a detailed response addressing those comments.

About the Journal

Experimental Hematology publishes new findings, methodologies, reviews and perspectives in all areas of hematology and immune cell formation on a monthly basis that may include Special Issues on particular topics of current interest. The overall goal is to report new insights into how normal blood cells are produced, how their production is normally regulated, mechanisms that contribute to hematological diseases and new approaches to their treatment. Specific topics may include relevant developmental and aging processes, stem cell biology, analyses of intrinsic and extrinsic regulatory mechanisms, in vitro behavior of primary cells, clonal tracking, molecular and omics analyses, metabolism, epigenetics, bioengineering approaches, studies in model organisms, novel clinical observations, transplantation biology and new therapeutic avenues.
